Romans 15:13 “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”
The Greek word for peace, εἰρήνη (eirēnē), means more than stillness—it speaks of wholeness, harmony, and rest born from trusting God. It is not the absence of trouble, but the presence of God in the midst of it.
Isaiah 26:3 says, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”
This peace guards our hearts and minds, allowing us to walk closely with the Holy Ghost. When we are anxious or fearful, it clouds our spiritual vision. But peace clears the way for God’s power to be revealed.
This reminds me of the story of a young lady who used to live in my neighborhood; her name was Sarah. She was in a storm — job loss, bills piling up, and no clear way forward. She felt overwhelmed. But instead of giving in to fear, Sarah chose to anchor herself in God’s promises. Every morning, she spent time in quiet prayer, meditating on the Word. Her circumstances didn’t immediately change — but her heart did.
Let peace lead, and the power of the Holy Ghost will overflow through you.
Prayer
Lord, fill my heart with Thy peace. Let it quiet every fear and guide my steps. Use me as a vessel of joy, peace, and power. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
