Scripture Reading

“Whosoever believeth in him shall not be ashamed.” – Romans 10:11

We have God as children and are called to have a triumphant living because God’s Spirit is with us at all times. Any residual shame is seen as meaningless through faith in Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit enables us to overcome adversity, move forward with assurance, and accept everything God has to offer through eternal life.

Reflection:

Jake was a young man who had to face many tragedies. He lost his job, was rejected by his family, and was taunted by his peers. Yet he tenaciously refused to let shame become who he was. He trusted in the Holy Spirit and trusted God’s unshakeable commitment. Later on, a surprise opportunity presented itself—his former employer, who had rejected him, offered him a better job. Jake’s life is a very inspiring example of what happens if you trust in the Spirit—there is victory on your horizon.

The Holy Spirit guarantees our victory.

“Now, let us thank God, who constantly gives us triumph in Christ.” – 2 Corinthians 2:14

You cannot escape the challenges that life has to offer; nonetheless, the Spirit of God that resides in you guarantees final triumph. When you walk your way with the Holy Spirit, you can be assured that God’s plan for you is unconquerable. When you find yourself facing difficulties, you have to remember that God is crafting your testimony, and through Him, you will overcome.

The Holy Spirit gives us a feeling of joy and assurance.

According to 2 Timothy 1:7, it is stated that “for God hath not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of temperance.”

Fear and uncertainty have the power to immobilize people, but through the Holy Spirit, we have a spiritual assurance. Instead of being overcome with fear, we are endowed with peace. Instead of being overcome with despair, we have joy. Let the Holy Spirit be your strength today. “The joy of the Lord is your strength.” – Nehemiah 8:10

The Holy Spirit gives us eternal life.

However, if you have in you the Spirit of Him who raised up Jesus Christ from the dead, He who raised up Christ from death shall also bring to life your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells within you. – Romans 8:11

The Holy Spirit that dwells within us is a guarantee of eternal life. Through whatever that may have happened in this life, there is something that cannot be taken away—a divine legacy. In John 3:16, it states that whoever has faith in Him will have eternal life. The assurance can be derived that it is through the Holy Spirit that eternal life with God can be achieved right now.

Another reference is found in Ephesians 1:13-14, which says, “In whom also after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of His glory.”

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Help me walk in victory, bravery, and the eternal life you have given me. Fill me with your Spirit and let my life shine with your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Please pray to invoke the assistance of the Holy Spirit in your decision-making today.
