Washed, renewed, and recreated by the Spirit

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.”Titus 3:5

The “washing of regeneration” refers to the complete cleansing and renewal that occurs when we accept the gift of salvation. It is not a surface change, but a total transformation of nature—a spiritual rebirth. This means that all the sins, failures, and shame of the past are wiped away, and we are made new.

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”2 Corinthians 5:17

Regeneration is the divine act through which God gives new spiritual life to those who were once dead in sin. It is the beginning of a life that is not just improved, but completely reborn.

The second dimension of this verse, the “renewing of the Holy Ghost,” speaks of the continuous work of the Spirit in the believer’s life. It is the Holy Spirit who nurtures, empowers, and guides us into all truth. Without the Spirit, our walk with God is incomplete.

“But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.”Romans 8:9

Salvation is not merely a legal declaration that you are forgiven—it is the starting point. What makes you a child of God is the indwelling presence of His Spirit. The Spirit of God is the seal of sonship, the one who confirms, strengthens, and transforms. “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.”Romans 8:16

Being saved is essential, but being filled with the Spirit is what aligns us with God’s power and identity. The Spirit is the divine connection through which we access the resurrection life of Christ. It is through the Holy Spirit that we operate in victory, live above sin, and walk in divine authority.“That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings…”Philippians 3:10

The power of the resurrection is not just an event—it is a life we are called to live. And this power can only be fully realized when we walk in the Spirit of God.

    Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of salvation and the grace of regeneration. I surrender to the work of the Holy Spirit in me—renew me, fill me, and empower me to live as Your child. Let the power of Christ’s resurrection be made manifest in my life through Your Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Empowered by the spirit: walking in power, love, and a sound mind

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” — 2 Timothy 1:7

To be born of the Spirit of God is to step into the fullness of what God has given to His children. We are not left vulnerable or fearful in a broken world—we are equipped, empowered, and established in divine authority.

The Spirit of God is not a spirit of timidity. It is a spirit of power—to overcome darkness, love—to walk in Christ-like compassion, and a sound mind—to remain stable, wise, and disciplined even in chaotic times.

A sound mind speaks of spiritual clarity, self-control, and mental stability that comes from being led by the Holy Spirit. It is not shaken by fear or confusion but anchored in truth and governed by God’s wisdom.

When fear whispers lies, remember: God did not author fear. He authored power to prevail, love to heal, and a sound mind to endure. This is your inheritance as a child of God.

There is no greater gift than to be born of the Spirit. It means that the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead now lives in you—strengthening you, guiding you, and making you victorious in all things.

    Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you for the precious gift of Your Spirit. I reject the spirit of fear and embrace the power, love, and sound mind You’ve given me. Help me walk boldly in Your truth, with a mind anchored in peace and purpose. Strengthen me daily to reflect Your power in every area of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

    God answers prayers

Pray without ceasing. (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

Prayer is a divine connection, not just requests but communion with God. Jesus’ prayers brought transformation, revealing God’s power. True prayer seeks spiritual growth, not just personal gain. As we align with God’s will, He meets our needs. Pray with faith, listen, and expect His response.

The Bible teaches us to pray without ceasing, a practice essential to our relationship with the Lord. Prayer, often described as communication with God, reveals a deeper understanding: it is an active expression of spiritual realities within God’s heart.

Whenever Jesus prayed, something significant occurred. For instance, at his baptism, he prayed, and a dove descended, confirming his identity as the Messiah (Luke 3:21). In Gethsemane, his prayer was so intense that he sweated drops of blood (see Luke 22:40–44). Moreover, during his prayer in Luke 9:28, Elijah and Moses appear. These instances illustrate that Jesus’ prayers were not mere recitations; they were genuine dialogues that brought immediate signs of God’s response.

Just as Jesus’ prayers consistently led to powerful outcomes, he also prayed to demonstrate his connection to the strength of God. Thus, prayer can be understood as the communication between a child of God and the Father. This implies that the Spirit of God within us actively brings about change during prayer.

Many people pray without seeing results but continue to hold onto hope for answers. It’s crucial to grasp that God operates in the realm of immediate results. As John reminds us, God is spirit, and those who worship Him must do so in spirit and truth.

Often, prayers go unanswered because they stem from selfish desires. Many who identify as Christians may not yet possess the Spirit of God and thus lack a true awareness of Him. Their prayers tend to revolve around personal gain or daily necessities. In contrast, Jesus’ prayers were never self-serving but rooted in spiritual matters. While physical needs can be met through worldly means, God has made ample provisions for those who diligently walk in His Spirit.

The essence of a child of God’s prayer should focus on gaining the strength to fulfill God’s will, the resilience to face obstacles while doing His work, and the capacity to bear fruit in the Spirit. Just as those in the flesh seek physical offspring, children of God aspire to nurture spiritual generations.

Ultimately, our heartfelt desires shape the focus of our prayers. I encourage you to pray for spiritual matters, trusting that God will take care of your physical needs. When you pray, strive to train your spirit to hear or perceive what the Lord is saying; this will foster effective communication.

There is no other way to the Kingdom of God.

And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: (Philippians 3:9)

Recently, I caught an intriguing discussion on a radio show. The speaker described God as a vast house: “You can enter through the window, the door, or even the ceiling. What matters is reaching God.” This metaphor struck me because it highlights a common misconception: many believe there are multiple avenues to the Kingdom of God.

Take, for example, the many who think that good deeds alone can win them access. They imagine that their kindness and generosity will be rewarded in the afterlife. While doing good is undeniably important, it doesn’t guarantee entry into God’s presence. Then, some focus intently on the Ten Commandments, dedicating every ounce of their energy to following them. They treat it like a constant weight on their shoulders, striving to comply but often falling short, missing one or two each day. In their quest to find the right path to God’s Kingdom, many tire themselves out, searching for various methods.

Yet, Jesus offers a powerful revelation: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). This profound statement emphasizes that Jesus alone holds the key to the Kingdom. He is the only way to access the Father and enter that divine abode. So, if we’re seeking entry, the most crucial step is to seek Jesus.

Through Him, we receive His life, which envelops us in His righteousness. The Holy Spirit guides us and illuminates the path to the Kingdom. Remember, it’s not about how you enter but about having the right key—and that key is found in Jesus Christ.

  • You are the genuine light that illuminates the world.

You are the genuine light that illuminates the world.

And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. (Matthew 17: 1-2 )

In the captivating account of the disciples Peter, James, and John, we witness a profound revelation atop a mountain. As they stood in the presence of Jesus, something extraordinary happened—they beheld Him in a brilliance that transcended their understanding. Many have labeled this moment as the “transfiguration,” a term often echoed in sermons and teachings. However, the truth runs deeper: it wasn’t Jesus who changed, but rather the disciples whose eyes were opened to perceive His true nature. Until that moment, they had been unaware of the magnificent identity of Christ. But there, on that mountain, their sight was transformed, revealing Him as a radiant light, with His face and garments shining like the sun.

When Jesus declared in John 8:12, “I am the light of the world,” He spoke with absolute authenticity, not merely making a profound statement or expressing a desire. His essence embodies light—the very essence of the Spirit of God, capable of banishing all darkness. This divine light was so powerful that it caused even the demon-possessed to cry out in His presence, as noted in Matthew 8:29. This illuminating presence was the source of liberation and healing for those who approached Him. In John 12:46, Jesus further attests to His purpose: He came as the light so that no believer would dwell in darkness. His light is the ultimate beacon, unrivaled by any other, shining forth from the Spirit of God. Furthermore, He proclaimed that as long as He is in the world, He is the light of the world (John 9:5). But what does this imply for us? It signifies that those who carry His life within them become that very light in a world shrouded in darkness. Matthew 5:14 reminds us: “You are the light of the world.”

It’s interesting to observe that many people feel the need to assert their identity as the light of the world publicly, often in church settings. However, this perspective can be misleading. Our identity as bearers of light is not something that needs to be declared; it is an intrinsic truth rooted in the Spirit. Anyone who possesses eternal life is inherently filled with light, radiating the same brilliance that shines in Matthew 17:1-2.

The dazzling brightness of God reflects the true identity of His children. It’s wonderfully liberating to recognize that the forces of darkness—devils and demons alike—are powerless against this glorious light. This divine brightness serves to free those who find themselves ensnared in darkness, illuminating their path to hope and healing.

    Prayer/Confession

Gracious Father in heaven, I am truly grateful for the strength you bestow upon me and for the light you have ignited within. With your guidance, I embrace my true essence, shining brightly in every place I tread. I uplift my prayer that countless miracles will unfold, revealing to all the incredible truth of your nature reflected in me.

Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist; notwithstanding, he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he (Matthew 11:11)

I’ve noticed that many people are praying for a double portion of Elijah’s blessings, and it’s interesting to see how some preachers interpret the great works of Elijah, Elisha, and other prophets. However, it’s crucial to remember that anyone who lived before the dawn of eternal life existed in the flesh as a natural human being. God interacted with some of these individuals—kings, prophets, and priests—to lead the children of Israel, but they were still bound by their earthly nature.

What’s truly fascinating is that the mystery of eternal life was hidden from those earlier generations. Thanks to the Holy Spirit, we now have access to this profound truth, as noted in Ephesians 3:5. This means that the new creation Jesus came to establish is far superior to anyone who walked the earth before Him.

Many people find themselves living defeated lives simply because they are ignorant of this powerful truth. You possess an incredible strength that surpasses that of anyone who has ever existed. No one has had the Holy Spirit dwell within them like you do.

Imagine a world where the potential within you is limitless! In John 14:12, Jesus passionately declares, “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do because I am going to my Father.” This profound statement reveals that if you believe in Him, you are destined to achieve even greater things—works that have yet to be witnessed! It’s an incredible reminder that our capabilities have no bounds; the sky is truly the limit when we embrace our faith and purpose!

The scripture clearly states that the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than the greatest of those in the flesh. This reveals the astonishing, glorious life that God has bestowed upon us through His Spirit. Embrace this truth and recognize the extraordinary power you carry!

    Prayer/Confession

I am happy to have a life greater than anyone who has ever lived on earth. I am grateful for the gift of eternal life, which makes me part of the kingdom of heaven. I understand that my greatness surpasses that of all the prophets of old, and I am made to demonstrate this gratitude to the world.
