  • Live for God, not for the approval of man

Live for God, not for the approval of man

“For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.”
    Galatians 1:10 (KJV)

In a world driven by likes, applause, and acceptance, it is easy to fall into the trap of seeking validation from people. But Paul, the apostle, draws a clear line in Galatians 1:10: a true servant of Christ cannot be a people-pleaser. Why? Because the ways of God and the ways of the world are often at odds.

To please men means to shape your life, your values, and even your message according to what others want to hear — often at the cost of truth and righteousness. But pleasing God demands surrender, courage, and faithfulness, even when it earns you rejection.

Jesus Himself said in John 15:19 (KJV):
“If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.”

When you pursue the will of God, do not expect universal applause. Men may misunderstand you, ridicule you, or oppose you. This is because the natural person—the one without the Spirit of God—cannot understand the things of God. Paul explains this in 1 Corinthians 2:14 (KJV):
“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

This means that the life you live in Christ — a life of holiness, truth, and eternal purpose — will often be seen as strange or offensive to those who walk according to the flesh. But do not be discouraged.

Persecution, misunderstanding, and rejection are not signs that you are failing — they are often evidence that you are walking in truth. The apostles, the prophets, and even Christ Himself were persecuted for standing firm in God’s will. Yet, they stood boldly, knowing that their reward was not in the acceptance of men, but in the favor of God.

    Joshua 1:9 (KJV) reminds us:
“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”

Let this truth anchor your heart: The approval of God is worth more than the applause of a thousand men.

    Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank you for choosing me to be your servant. Help me to live boldly for You, not swayed by the opinions or approval of people. Teach me to value Your truth above worldly acceptance. When persecution comes, strengthen my heart. When rejection comes, remind me that You were rejected first. Let me walk in courage, guided by Your Spirit and rooted in the eternal hope I have in Christ.
    In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  • The Gift of Labor

    The Gift of Labor

“And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.”— Ecclesiastes 3:13

From the very beginning, God designed work as part of His divine purpose for mankind. In Genesis, before sin entered the world, Adam was placed in the Garden of Eden “to dress it and to keep it” (Genesis 2:15). Work was not a punishment—it was a purpose. Ecclesiastes 3:13 reminds us that it is God’s will not only that we work but that we find joy and satisfaction in our labor. When we eat, drink, and enjoy the fruit of our efforts, we are partaking in a divine gift.

This scripture counters the belief that work is merely a means of survival. Instead, it teaches us that labor is sacred and purposeful. God wants us to thrive, to be fulfilled, and to see the value of our contributions—whether in the workplace, in ministry, or at home. Our work is a reflection of God’s nature, for He too is a worker—creating, sustaining, and providing.

However, the truth also remains that our efforts alone are not enough. We may work hard and still feel unfulfilled or see little progress. This reminds us that while we are called to diligence, the prosperity of our work rests in God’s hands. Psalm 127:1 says, “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it.” No matter how skilled or committed we are, we need the blessing of God to truly prosper.

Thus, we must not only work but work with God—inviting Him into our careers, our projects, and our daily tasks. When we align our efforts with His will, He breathes life into our labor. He grants us wisdom, favor, and fruitfulness. It is God who gives the power to get wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18), and it is His desire that we enjoy—not just endure—the journey.

So, as you go about your responsibilities today, remember that your work matters. Whether big or small, public or private, it is part of God’s plan. And He wants you not just to work, but to enjoy the good of all your labor. That joy, that satisfaction, is His gift to you.

    Prayer

    Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the gift of work. Help me to see my labor as a calling and not a burden. Teach me to honor You in all that I do and to rely on Your strength and blessing for fruitfulness. Prosper the work of my hands and let me enjoy the good of my efforts. May I always remember that it is You who gives increase. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  • Rejoice and be glad in every day

Rejoice and be glad in every day

“This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24 (KJV)

Every day is a divine gift — a fresh opportunity shaped by the loving hands of God. When the psalmist wrote, “This is the day which the Lord hath made,” he was proclaiming that each day, no matter how ordinary or challenging, is filled with God’s purpose and presence.

Rejoicing and being glad are not mere emotions; they are choices and acts of worship. To rejoice is to celebrate God’s goodness, to recognise His sovereignty, and to declare with our lives that He is worthy — even when circumstances are difficult. Gladness is the inward joy that springs from trust in God’s plan, knowing that He is always working for our good (Romans 8:28).

Jesus himself modelled this attitude. He cherished every moment on earth, fully embracing both the beauty and the pain of life. His joy was not rooted in comfort but in obedience to the Father and in the eternal hope that transcends earthly struggles (Hebrews 12:2).

Being joyful is godliness. Joy is not superficial; it reflects God’s nature. Heaven is a place of perfect joy, and when we rejoice here and now, we mirror the eternal glory and peace of God. True joy demonstrates that our hearts are anchored not to this world, but to the everlasting Kingdom.

How to Rejoice in Times of Chaos

    1. Focus on God’s Promises — Instead of magnifying the problem, magnify God’s faithfulness. “He will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)

    2. Remember Past Victories—Reflect on times God delivered you before. If He was faithful then, He will be faithful now.

    3. Offer Praise as a Sacrifice — Sometimes praising God is an act of discipline, not feeling. But it opens the door for joy to flow again.

    4. Pray with Honesty and Trust — Cast your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).

    5. Stay Connected to the Word — Scripture strengthens the heart, renews the mind, and reminds us who God is in every season.

    Prayer

Father God, Thank you for the gift of today. Help me to see every day as an opportunity to worship You with my joy and my gladness. Teach me to rejoice not only when life is easy but also when chaos surrounds me. Anchor my heart in Your promises and let my life reflect Your eternal joy. May Your Spirit fill me with strength, hope, and peace that surpasses all understanding. I choose to rejoice because You are good and Your mercy endures forever.
    In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  • Money in the right hands

    Money in the right hands

“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”Matthew 6:24 (KJV)

This verse is often misunderstood. Some take it to mean that money itself is evil, but that’s not what Jesus said. He never condemned money—he warned against letting it become our master. There’s a big difference between having money and letting money have us.

In God’s hands, and in the hands of the righteous, money is a tool. It feeds the hungry, funds missions, builds communities, and blesses lives. Scripture is clear: “But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth…” (Deuteronomy 8:18). And again, “The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.” (Proverbs 10:22). Money is not the problem—misplaced affection is.

The natural man, apart from God, is consumed by money. His mind stays on it day and night. He’s willing to do anything to get it—lie, cheat, manipulate, and even destroy. This obsession leads only to ruin. Proverbs 13:11 warns us, “Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.” And Proverbs 15:27 says, “He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house…”

But the one who has eternal life, the one who walks with God, lives differently. Their heart isn’t set on material wealth—it’s set on God. And when God is first, He provides everything else. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33). God is not against you having things—He’s against things having you.

Being a child of God does not mean being poor. Many of God’s servants in the Bible were blessed with wealth—Abraham, Joseph, Solomon, and others. What mattered wasn’t their wealth, but their heart. They honored God with their substance, and God trusted them with more.

When your heart is clean and your hands are honest, money becomes a servant—not a master. And when you walk with God, He opens doors, gives favor, and pours out blessings. “Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” (Psalm 37:4)

Let your mind stay on the Lord. Trust Him as your source. Work diligently. Give generously. Handle money wisely. And never let it rule your life.

    Prayer:
Heavenly Father, Thank You for being our provider and source of every good thing. Help us to never serve money, but to serve You with all our hearts. Keep our minds focused on what’s eternal, and purify our hands so that all we do brings You glory. Teach us to manage money with wisdom, generosity, and integrity. May our abundance never distract us, but only draw us closer to You. And in seasons of lack, remind us that You are still enough.
    In Jesus’ name,
    Amen.

  • Overflowing with Peace and Joy

    Overflowing with Peace and Joy

Romans 15:13 “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”

The Greek word for peace, εἰρήνη (eirēnē), means more than stillness—it speaks of wholeness, harmony, and rest born from trusting God. It is not the absence of trouble, but the presence of God in the midst of it.

Isaiah 26:3 says, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”
This peace guards our hearts and minds, allowing us to walk closely with the Holy Ghost. When we are anxious or fearful, it clouds our spiritual vision. But peace clears the way for God’s power to be revealed.

This reminds me of the story of a young lady who used to live in my neighborhood; her name was  Sarah. She was in a storm — job loss, bills piling up, and no clear way forward. She felt overwhelmed. But instead of giving in to fear, Sarah chose to anchor herself in God’s promises. Every morning, she spent time in quiet prayer, meditating on the Word. Her circumstances didn’t immediately change — but her heart did.

Let peace lead, and the power of the Holy Ghost will overflow through you.

    Prayer

Lord, fill my heart with Thy peace. Let it quiet every fear and guide my steps. Use me as a vessel of joy, peace, and power. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
