  • The temple within: honoring God with our health

The temple within: honoring God with our health

“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”— 1 Corinthians 6:19–20 (KJV)

As believers, we often emphasize our spiritual lives—our prayer, worship, and church attendance. But how often do we pause to consider that our bodies are part of that worship too?

The Bible says that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. That means God, in all His purity and glory, dwells inside us. Just as the physical temple in Jerusalem was kept clean, sacred, and in order, we have a divine responsibility to care for our physical bodies.

Our health is not a side issue—it is a spiritual responsibility. The food we eat, the things we drink, and the habits we form—these are not just lifestyle choices; they are acts of either honour or dishonour to the One who lives in us.

“Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”
    — 1 Corinthians 10:31 (KJV)

The Spirit of God within us does not dwell in chaos, pollution, or neglect. When we consume harmful substances, ignore rest, or disregard exercise and nutrition, we invite weakness, disease, and even premature death—not because God has failed us, but because we have failed to protect the temple.

Too many people die young, not because of demonic attacks or curses, but because of poor daily choices. Sickness and unhealthy living often stem from our personal approach to life. But here’s the good news: You can take responsibility. You can choose life. You can glorify God with your body.

Let today be the turning point. Choose to honor God with every meal, every breath, and every moment. Let your health reflect His holiness. Let your body mirror the order, strength, and vitality of the One who dwells within.

    Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of my body, a sacred temple where Your Holy Spirit lives. Help me to see my health not as a burden, but as a blessing and a responsibility.
Teach me to make choices that honor You—to eat what nourishes, to drink what refreshes, to live with wisdom.
Forgive me for the times I have neglected this temple. Today, I recommit to caring for it, not in vanity, but in reverence.
May my body and my spirit together glorify You, my Creator and Redeemer.
    In Jesus’ Name,
    Amen.

The Gift of Eternal Life in Christ

1 John 5:11-12 “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.”

As we meditate on the profound truth found in 1 John 5:11-12, we are reminded that eternal life is not merely an extension of existence; it is the very life of God Himself. This life is a gift bestowed upon us through faith in Jesus Christ, His Son. The passage makes it abundantly clear: to possess eternal life, we must possess the Son.

Without Christ, we are spiritually dead, disconnected from the source of life. The life of God is not something we can earn or achieve through our own efforts; it is a divine gift that flows from a relationship with Jesus. This relationship transforms our existence and grants us access to the fullness of life that God intends for us.

Eternal life is not just a future promise; it begins the moment we accept Christ. It is a life characterized by peace, joy, and purpose. In John 10:10, Jesus states, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” This abundant life is available to all who believe in Him, and it is through Him that we find true fulfillment.

Let us also remember the words of John 14:6, where Jesus proclaims, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” This underscores the exclusivity of the path to eternal life. It is only through Christ that we can have a relationship with God and experience the fullness of His life.

As we reflect on these truths, let us be inspired to deepen our relationship with Christ. Let us share this gift of eternal life with others, recognizing the urgency of leading those who do not know Him to the One who is life itself.

    Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the incredible gift of eternal life through Your Son, Jesus Christ. I am grateful that through Him, I can experience the fullness of life that You desire for me. Help me to fully understand the depth of this gift and to live in a way that reflects Your love and grace.

Lord, I pray for those who do not yet know You. Open their hearts to the truth of the Gospel and draw them to Your Son, that they may also receive the gift of eternal life. May I be a vessel for Your message, sharing the hope and joy that comes from knowing You.

Thank You for the promise of life eternal and for the assurance that through Christ, I am never alone. Help me to walk in this truth daily, and to share it boldly with others. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

  • Dead to the flesh, alive to God

Dead to the flesh, alive to God

“Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth: fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience.” Colossians 3:5-6 (KJV)

Every person born of woman enters this world shaped by the fallen nature of man. The flesh, untouched by the Spirit of God, naturally bears the fruits listed in Colossians 3:5—fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil desires, and covetousness. These are not just isolated sins but symptoms of a deeper condition: life apart from God.

Paul urges believers to “mortify”—put to death—these earthly desires. Why? Because these are the very things that provoke the wrath of God. This divine wrath is not a random rage but a holy response to sin. It is a reminder that God is just, and He will not leave evil unpunished (Romans 1:18).

But here is the hope: through Christ, we are no longer slaves to these desires. The Spirit of God dwelling within us empowers us to rise above the natural man and walk in righteousness (Galatians 5:16-17). Until we receive the Spirit of Christ, we are spiritually dead—destined for wrath. But those who belong to Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires (Galatians 5:24).

The children of God are called to abstain from anything that stirs up the flesh. This is not merely legalism—it is liberation. When we say no to sin, we are saying yes to God’s holiness. We become living testimonies that God hates evil, and that His grace is powerful enough to transform the human heart.

This lifestyle of consecration brings out the best in God’s people, and glorifies the Father in a dark and disobedient world. Our purity is not just personal—it’s prophetic. It declares that the kingdom of God is at hand and that light is greater than darkness.

So today, examine your heart. Are there things within you that still belong to the old self? Mortify them. Kill them at the root. Don’t make peace with anything that brings God’s wrath. Instead, let the Spirit of God fill you, lead you, and transform you.

    Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank you for your holiness and mercy. I recognize the works of the flesh in me and ask for the strength to mortify them daily. Fill me with Your Spirit so that I may walk in newness of life and be a light in this world. Help me to honor You in thought, word, and deed. Let my life reflect Your purity and truth. I surrender every sinful desire to You. Let Your will be done in me.
    In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  • As I have Loved you

    As I have Loved you

John 13:34 “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.”

In John 13:34, Jesus delivers a command that goes beyond ordinary kindness or politeness—it is a divine imperative, rooted in the example of His own love. He doesn’t simply say, “love each other”—He qualifies it: “as I have loved you.”

This is a radical, sacrificial, and unconditional kind of love. The same love that washed the feet of His disciples (John 13:5), that forgave sinners, that showed compassion to the outcasts, and ultimately, the love that would lay down its life on the cross (John 15:13).

Jesus is not speaking about a feeling, but a choice. A commandment—not a suggestion. And it’s new, not in the sense that love itself is new (see Leviticus 19:18), but in the standard by which love is now measured: Christ Himself.

To love as Jesus loved means:

    • To forgive as He forgave (Luke 23:34)

    • To serve without seeking reward (Mark 10:45)

    • To welcome the unlovable (Matthew 9:10-13)

    • To pursue peace, grace, and truth in every relationship

This kind of love is the mark of true discipleship. In the very next verse (John 13:35), Jesus says: “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” Our love testifies to the world who we belong to.

Love is not optional for the believer—it is the essence of Christian living. To love as Christ loves is to walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:22), to fulfill the law (Romans 13:10), and to reveal God to a watching world (1 John 4:12).

    Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the love You have shown me through Jesus Christ—unearned, unending, and unconditional. Teach me to love others not based on how I feel, but based on how You love. Help me to be patient when it’s hard, forgiving when I’m hurt, and kind when it’s not returned.
Lord, I want to reflect Your heart. Let my words, my actions, and even my thoughts be shaped by Your command: to love as You have loved me. Strengthen me by Your Spirit to live this love out daily. In Jesus’ name,

  • The power of togetherness

    The power of togetherness

    Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

“Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.”

The Bible emphasizes the importance of community. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 reminds us that we are not meant to walk through life alone. “Two are better than one” because together, we can accomplish more and support each other in times of need. When one falls, the other lifts them up. However, if we isolate ourselves, we are vulnerable to falling without anyone to help us rise again. God calls us to be in relationships that help us grow and strengthen our faith.

Even Jesus, the Son of God, surrounded Himself with His 12 disciples. In His darkest moment in the Garden of Gethsemane, He asked His disciples to stay with Him and pray (Matthew 26:36-38). If Jesus needed the support of others, how much more do we?

Living in isolation is not God’s will for us. Isolation can lead to loneliness and despair. God designed us for community—to encourage, help, and grow together. Proverbs 27:17 says, “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” We are meant to sharpen each other, lifting each other up in love and support.

    Prayer:

Hevenly Father, Thank You for the gift of relationships. Help us seek meaningful connections and be a support to those around us. May we never walk alone, and may we lift others when they fall. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
